When Bubbles Were Blown
By Mac from Portsmouth, England , 14 Jun 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
This will take you back to a time when hair was big and shorts were worn...well very very tight. If you're a West Ham or Arsenal fan you will love this - even if it's just for a nostalgic trip back to days of only one substitute or when you were allowed a back pass to the keeper. The thing that struck me about this game - one I last watched live - is the speed. The game seems to have sped up in the last twenty odd years but that doesn't take any of the enjoyment away from it. A game with end to end chances and a rare Brooking header only part of it. Watch this if you never had the chance to see any of the Gunners or Hammers legends that play or just watch it to see that Trevor Brooking has always looked the same and David O'Leary was once a young man!- Was this review helpful to you?

A classic football match
By a customer from Worcester Park, Surrey , 02 Feb 2007What a game! Free flowing football, end to end with plenty of goalmouth incidents, both sides playing open attacking football. One of the best games of all time. Played in a spirit which is rarely seen nowadays - no cheating, no harassing the referee. A West Ham side at its peak with a dominant Bobby Moore playing at the top of his game. Memorable in the commentary for Kenneth Wolstenholme's fascination with a lady photographer which would have been totally inappropriate these days. This game is a must not only for West Ham fans but for all lovers of classic football.- Was this review helpful to you?
