From the opening title sequence you know you are in the safe hands of a cult classic.

"Foxy Brown" is immensely enjoyable from start to finish but this is in no way high brow filmaking. All scenes are geared around getting Foxy into revealing outfits and/or naked and then having her fight bad guys and bad girls all in the name of entertainment. The rare groove soundtrack perfectly compliments Foxy's journey of revenge and the whole 70s thang is great to watch. The dodgy sets, bad dialogue and ropey fighting only add to the whole experience. Pam Grier is a tornado in an afro, kicking the crap out of rednecks, drug dealers and pimps whilst looking sexy as hell in a array of stunning outfits. She makes Charlie's Angels look like the girl guides....she's aaall woman!

Yo Brutha's & Sisters, I'm here to tell you about 1 cool chick, goes by the name of Foxy Brown, as played by Blaxploitation Queen, Pam Grier, . This is 1 chick who knows how to handle herself, she can karate chop & kick her way out of trouble. when her man's killed by the mob, she sets out on a revenge mission . There's some 'crimes against fashion' most notably the threads worn by Antonio Fargas of 'Starsky & Hutch' fame - Maaan, get that cat to a designer ! Highly recommended, with a Funnkaay theme tune - this is 1 Hot Mama y'all should check out !

Standard Blaxploitation film, which is easy to watch. Pam Grier is stunning as Foxy.

Whilst this is not a masterpice of cinematography, within this genre it truly is a gem. And any Pam Grier fans will surely love this film.

  • Dig it brother!

    I can dig it!

Even though shallow emotion appears to made of a traumatic event like a ‘death’ (which is why I dropped the star rating), this low budget movie is a captivating little piece from the 70’s Blaxploitation era that outshines many big budget movies produced in hollywoodland even today.

I won’t ruin the plot but let’s say - drugs, undercover brothers, vigilantes - the man - chopper motorcycles - chicks dishing out the justice - the street fighting is raw and almost ordinary (which is what real fights in the street look like) with the plot taken to a great ending that’s Foxy Brown.

And from a hetro-male point of view - to see the beautiful Pam Grier naked has to be worth every penny of the rental.

Stylish entertaining and influential romp that more than ticks the boxes. Not as good as Jack Hill and Pam Grier's previous film 'Coffy' but great nonetheless.

  • Strictly for the Blaxploitation Crowd

    Rated - 2.0 stars

Sleazy blaxploitation film from the 70s that's built around big busted Pam Grier as Foxy Brown knocking you over with her brown sugar and spice. It's writer-director Jack Hill's follow-up to his commercially successful Coffy, which also featured Pam. Foxy lacks the fine subversive quality of the other film, instead it resorts to being an uninteresting revenge film with plenty of violence and cheap thrills aimed at satisfying its mostly black audience. All the whites featured are either bigots, whores or vile criminals.

Pam proves to be up for the role's physicality, looks hot in every tacky outfit she adorns, handles a gun like a pro, curses with the best of 'em, can drive a Cadillac Sedan de Ville as if it were a lethal weapon and still shines as a desirable sex symbol. This one is strictly for the blaxploitation crowd and fans of Pam.
