This is a well-acted period drama set in London and the Home Counties during the Second World War. As in other dramas in the Foyle's War series, the action centres on a clash between peace-time values and war-time necessities, focused in the dilemmas of the police investigator Foyle, who has to navigate his way between the two. The pace never slackens, the characters are credible and well-drawn, and the whole thing is brought to life by a dry and realistic sense of humour. The stars are obviously Michael Kitchen as Detective Superintendent Foyle and Honeysuckle Weeks as Samantha Stewart, his driver, but the rest of the cast also put in a fine performance.
Very good entertainment. Acting good and story intersting. Foyle and his driver Sam are great. I love this series.
