Nearly all of the Universal Classic Horror films are available in America but they are only coming out over here in dribs and drabs. So it is great to see this rarely seen film, the first time Universal decided to cross over with two of their creations (or Jack Pierce's, the make-up genius responsible for all their great monsters).
Lugosi turned down the monster role in the original 1931 Frankenstein and it went to Karloff instead. How fortunate we are because Lugosi's monster has none of the subtle pathos of Karloff's superb performance, but still a great film to watch and enjoy a time when horror movies had style.
Another great universal horror film.Only problem with the film is Bela Lugosi does'nt look right as the Frankenstein monster.
