[Highly rated reviewer]Great 3D and lots of humour and was none the worse for being in B&W - in fact it just added to the atmosphere. Lots of nods to the original Frankenstein, especially effective in black and white. A monster/horror story for kids with a happy (???) ending. My 7-year-old really liked it though there were a couple of scary parts she had to hide behind her hands for, though I was impressed that she understood that the 'shock' moment was coming up and was ready for it. I really enjoyed it too. Highly recommended unless your kids are really young or really sensitive.

Didn't make it to the endBy dorcandave (6 reviews) from Swindon , 17 Aug 2013I tried to enjoy this - but I just couldn't! It started sweetly and I thought 'yep - this could be good' but then it was just silly and predictable (if that's possible) and, frankly, boring.
Tim Burton on a really bad day.By a customer , 30 Jun 2013Dull, formulaic, no charm, was a real disappointment and effort to stick it through to the end. A case of resting on older laurels for TB, truly dreadful tosh.
A Big DisappointmentBy Chrisaljack (415 reviews) from Hellingly , 06 May 2013This is an animated feature that only Tim Burton could have made. Unfortunately even his wackiness fell a bit flat in Frankenweenie. I think he was right in making it in B&W and the 3D added to the effect he wanted to create. The use of 'puppety' characters was also interesting, but overall the story and the whole 'package' just did not gel. A big disappointment.
Boring boringBy Allo (2 reviews) , 15 Apr 2013I sat and watched this with my 8 year old niece and 10 year old nephew, both of them got bored after 30 mins (& so did I). Not really a kids film.
black and white 3d ?By kenym (21 reviews) , 12 Apr 2013Good movie with good 3d effects , understand the reason behind making it black and white but still think colour would have been a better option , it would have had 4 stars then , nice fairly evenly paced and holds interest especially for children
