The dawn of a TV marvel
By Adrian Moore from Leicestershire , 07 Sep 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
The Simpsons aside, Frasier is the greatest TV show to come from America. Where most US sit coms tended to insult British TV audiences with the viewer guessing the punchline before it arrived and then suffering the indignity of having the punchline explained to them, Frasier is a very witty and intelligent series. Frasier & Miles and two fantastic characters that are played expertly. The supporting characters are also well written and given their share of the jokes. If you enjoy the first series of Frasier, you`ll be pleased to know that the series improves in the coming seasons (something you would not think possible if the first series is all you`ve seen) Rent this DVD. You must!!- Was this review helpful to you?

(53)Pure class
By Soopersta (2 reviews) , 25 Nov 2011This is one of the cleverest sitcoms ever written in my opinion. The plot is always integrated well and the one liners are priceless. Frasier's grimaces combined with Niles's prima donna ways are comedy distinction!- Was this review helpful to you?

Classic Frasier
By a customer from Towcester , 08 Dec 2008Frasier is the ONLY TV show for which my partner and I would make the time to sit and watch at the time it was broadcast. I was heart broken when they finally stopped making them. The tightly written script describes two brothers, both pompous, snobbish psychiatrists living in Seattle, who are frequently undone by their own attempts to prove their superiority. The down to earth father, a retired cop and brilliantly funny live-in domestic help, Daphne, wittly contrast the brothers' high minded ideals, point out their short comings but also pick them up when they fall.
This first series sets up the characters and the style which was maintained throughout the long life of the series.- Was this review helpful to you?
