    [Highly rated reviewer]

This is the first Frasier series I haven't given 5 stars for. Which is suprising considering it's got the one where daphne and Niles get together. The reason for my moan is Anthony La Paglia. He plays Daphne's brother from Manchester with the most annoying cockney accent since Dick Van Dyke did his thing with Mary Poppins. His charachter is so unfunny and annoying it detracts from the plot at times. You'd have thought Jane Leeves would have given him a few tips on how to talk with a good bit of 'ecky thump.

Still the same characters, still the same great humour. Not a swear word in sight but loads of laughs. Very entertaining.

    ... make mine focaccia!

In its' day Cheers was one of the better tv sitcoms to cross the Atlantic, but the spin off, Frasier, broke new ground for television viewing. It succeeded in taking a simple formula ( a la Restoration Comedy... 'in through the out door' ) and honing it into a delightful, and eminently watchable, parody of pomposity and misplaced snobbishness. The dialogue is sharp and witty, and refreshingly it relies on words of more than two syllables.

The star of the show for me is David Hyde Pierce, who plays Frasier's complex psychiatrist brother... not that I mean that to detract from the rest of the cast, who gel brilliantly.

I Absolutely loved this sitcom but it's really gone down hill lately. They really should have quit while ahead, It was cringing to watch this series. :(
