Frasier - Complete Season 8 Reviews

Still fantastic But Not Quite Up There With Season 1-7

Season 8 is the first season of Frasier that didn't quite reach perfection. Daphne and Niles are now together and although the show handles it very well in general it does take an edge of their characters. Jane Leeves who plays Daphne fell pregnant during this series and an overeating story line develops until about half way through when Daphne goes to the 'fat farm' to seek help. While in real life Jane Leeves gave birth and she returns later in the season. We don't have the wonderful character of Bulldog anymore but instead we have the return of Lana. A lover of Frasier in the previous series and now a friend who has you in stitches the same way Bulldog did.

I would rate seasons 1-7 at 10/10. However, season 8 drops to 9/10. It's still a fantastic show but some of the story lines (e.g. 'fat' Daphne) and episodes don't quite reach the heights of previous season. It's also disappointing to find that there are no extras at all - they could have at least included some interviews with cast/makers about the Daphne/Niles relationship.

Everybody loves Frasier ?

I am a Frasier fan so it's a one sided review i'm afraid. If you've followed these Characters from the beginning of their journey together, by the time you get to Series 8, it's hard not to like. It wasn't some of the most Vintage Frasier episodes but after several years of production they are wrapping up the show. Loved It and will be sad when it eventually ends.

The point to stop watching...

Having gone through every show disk by disk I was incredibly disappointed by this series. After the unravelling of events at the end of series 7 the moment you’ve been waiting for has gone. It seems there’s not a lot more else to write about and at series 8 Fraiser starts to take itself up.

The point to stop is definitely disk 4 series 7.

Relaxing, funny and comforting

Just love a bit of Frasier for a quick unwind and laugh. Good series though not quite as good as seven, highlight episode was Niles and Frasier at the basketball game with Dad.
