    [Highly rated reviewer]

I was really looking forward to recieving this DVD and after the wait I wasn't disappointed. Having said this it wasn't at all what I expected. It seemingly had very little to do with economics and was largely distant analogies of economic concepts. Including an inordinately lengthy section on sumo wrestling to illistrate the idea of cheating the system - as if this is the most challenging concept faced by the human mind that it has to be broken down to the bare essentials. On top of this the quirky music in the background and featured in the trailer was extremely grating and had the air of 'please nominate me for sundance'. I really did enjoy the section about insentives and the importance of names however and ultimately they made a good documentary.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt. If I have the time to write an amatuer review it can't be all that valid can it?

Doesn't really work as a movie. The structure is quite annoying, the sumo segment goes on forever. Picks up a little towards the end.

I have not read the book but it must be better than this - at least from the reports I have heard of the book. Look, this isn't a bad film and the core theme looking at the real causes of certain issues and how we all are driven by personal incentives is a good one; it's just that the feeling throughout this film is somewhat superficial.

I like to learn something new. This film gave me several new pieces of information. If you like to know how some people always think diffrently to the norm then watch this film.

Whilst this is ok, some of the points are a little laboured (and therefore boring). Read the book instead. Far more interesting.

just a very clever film, questioning human morals and what drives us. i dont usually like documanterys being refered to as 'films' as i believe a film should give a sense of escapism, but looking this as a documrntry it gets you to question life, rules, and what is what. basicly if you understand the film, you understand the picture on the front cover. please watch
