Not as good as the re-make
Although enjoyable up to a point, the modern version (which I thought I had ordered) is so much better, with many more of the problematic issues confronted.
Life begins at 40 – but if you’re a movie actress, that’s also when your career gives up the ghost. At least, that’s the way things used to be. Not for everyone of course – there were always bit parts for grannies, and occasionally a star of significant magnitude might parlay her fame into a second career as a horror icon (Bette Davis; Joan Crawford).
