Or you can rent each disc individually:
The surviving band members of Queen wanted to mark Freddie Mercury's death with something that would raise awareness of AIDS and, at the same time, give fans the opportunity to celebrate the life and work of the showstopping singer.
This concert did both of these things and more. It is unlikely there will ever be a better tribute concert in our lifetime.
Although it was an very diverse mix of performers (Guns N' Roses, George Michael, Elton John etc.) the concert really gelled smoothly.
Don't get me wrong, there are some ropey moments - Roger Daltrey's failing voice to name but one, and some songs obviously work better with their guest singers than others.
But there are plenty of highlights to make you want to watch this again and again. Lisa Stansfield's 'I Want to Break Free' and Gary Cherone (Extreme) belting out 'Hammer to Fall' are particular standouts.
The second DVD is very informative and all the band members talk about how the concert came together. This is coupled with some rehearsal footage to complete an excellent DVD release.
I went to this concert. I went to most Queen concerts but .... this one looks dated and lacks the main ingredient why we would watch it time and time again ... Freddie Mercury. First half acts are appalling especially Def Leppard. Second half is better. If you are a Queen fan hire a true Queen DVD. For the rest give it a miss.
Second disc was interesting.
