A Must Have DVD for any Student of the Guitar.
Frederic Hand is a highly skilled and respected musician, who in his student days won a scholarship to spend a year studying with Julian Bream and is amongst other things; the official guitarist and lutenist at the New York Met - so when he shows you how a piece should be played you know your getting a masterclass! Unfortunately the Sheet music isn't included with the hire disc but that didn't detract from the excellence of Mr Hand's teaching or playing and his insight(s) will prove essential to any student, no matter what their level - Recommended.

Great Communicator (- pity about the music.)
As the other reviewer noted, there's no music with this disc so it's a master calss in how to play - but you're going to have a hell of a job actually getting to play these seven pieces without it. But it shows how very nice classical parts can be learnt and played without too much study by the beginner and with a nice guitar you'll get some impressive results - but you'll need to find the music somewhere.

Fredric is a really good communicator and must have done plenty of master classes to get this good at talking to the audience. It gives you a good feel for what it's like to be taught by a competent guitar teacher. You like to be there with him and able to ask questions though. -
