[Highly rated reviewer]This is a beautifully shot film. I was captivated by the stunning backdrops and the surreal effects used to capture the artists thoughts.
I have read many books about Frida and although this film covered many aspects of her colourful life I felt that the artist was not represented well. The injuries and pain that she lived with her whole life was skipped through most of the film until the end.
Alfred Molina who plays Riviera was excellent and very funny.
I highly recommend this film but if you are interested there are many great books written about her that you will need to get a better understanding.

Inspirational film.By Nowm (4 reviews) from Leeds , 27 Mar 2013A fascinating film, beautifully made, about one of the most inspirational women in history. The story is fantastic, I Loved it.
Well worth watching!By BSL (1 review) , 12 Mar 2013Frida is a very good film. It is a good story. As far as I could tell it was reasonably accurate historically. Salma Hayek was excellent but I was not entirely convinced by some of the other actors (playing Rivera, Trotsky and smaller parts). The filming, the vibrant colours and the links into the paintings were very good. i greatly enjoyed it.
