Friday The 13th - Part 2

Operating under the assumption that the site near a particularly gruesome series of mass murders is the perfect place to open a summer camp for unsuspecting children, a fresh batch of teenage camp counselors return to the ill-fated Camp Crystal Lake five years after its most recent atrocities. Since the perpetrator of those crimes was decapitated by the only survivor (Adrienne King), the plucky teens ignorantly go about the business of reviving the camp, unaware that they are being stalked by an unseen figure who lives in the woods, waiting for the right opportunity to take bloody revenge.

    A superior sequel

Set 5 years after the events of Friday the 13th, Camp Crystal Lake is now a prohibited area, and Jason has become a myth fading in peoples minds.

A fresh group of teenagers are brought to a camp just a short walk from Crystal Lake, and it seems Jason is alive and has the taste for blood.

I'm not easily scared by films, but I can think of two distinct occaisions where I literally leapt an inch from my seat!

I like the way that in this film Jason has not yet taken on the appearance that everyone remembers him for. It makes this film separate from the rest of the series, and follows on very well from the original.

This film is a better production than the first. The acting is more convincing, and the camera angles, and suspense is much more satisfying. You can easily watch this film without having seen the first, but I think you will appreciate the film more if you have.
