    Telescoping Time

Sometimes it's hard to get a perspective on recent history. Friends and Crocodiles reflects changing attitudes and politics from the early eighties to early noughties. The new technology and the changing fashions are brilliantly shown. Damien Lewis is almost magnetic in his Gatsby-like role. Robert Lindsey is also excellent as a commentator on the changing fortunes and Johdi Mahr is remarkable . Stephen Poliakof is a marvelous storyteller. Enjoy and be surprised about what you've forgotten.

    come again?

I watched this with a friend and we both just worried we had missed something essential! The film tries so hard to be intelligent and just ends up being unfathomable - well from our perspective it did! Quirky annoying characters that do nothing to draw you in. Cliched view of the past. Odd and strangely unbeguiling.
