  • A grisly classic – not to be missed

There are few people nowadays who don’t know From Dusk Till Dawn’s ‘twist.’ Originally, it was two separate screenplays – one about bank robbers fleeing the authorities and the other about a standoff against vampires. Quentin Tarrantino decided to combine the two and package it as one film. The result: awesome. Although not directed by Tarrantino (instead, he casts himself in a leading role), it has a totally Tarrantino feel. Two bank robbers abduct a family in an attempt to excape the law and flee over the border into Mexico. Unfortunately, they run into a whole bar-load of vampires and are forced to team up in order to survive the night. Yes, it may sound like many similar films, but for a start it has an impressive cast, featuring a (young and unusually nasty) George Clooney, Tarrantino himself as Clooney’s creepy, psychotic younger brother, Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis and plenty of cameos from other famous faces as either vampires of those destined to drive a stake through their hearts. Expect slow-building, rambling dialogue, not to mention the inevitable foul language and violence. If you like either Tarrantino’s films or general action/horror, mixed with healthy doses of black comedy, then you really should watch this. And, guys, if you haven’t seen Salma Hayek’s ‘snakedance,’ you really haven’t lived. Kristen Stewart’s vampire isn’t a patch on her!

  • The day crime stays away from Mexico

Oh yeah the road movie to mexico's most talked about strip joint the titty twister. You wont catch a STD but you will catch a touch of blood sucking doom. A film which is a loose remake of Richard Weck's Vamp. For me I love them both. George Clooney(Burn after reading, peace maker) and Quentin Tarentino(Pulp fiction,Jackie Brown) make on hell of a duo. The acting support is classic to from Harvy Kietel(Taxi driver,Reservoir Dogs) Tom Savini(The Burning,Maniac) the list is endless. If you look road movies going very wrong this is the film for you.

  • An average film that could have been better

I think the first part of the movie was a fairly good action/tough guy sort of film and then it moved into the horror/vampire aspect and for me it then went from being a potentially good movie to being an average one - it lost its credibility and moved into farce - not because it became about vampires but because of the weird alliance of the characters opposing them e. g. George Clooney & the rest who frankly were far less credible than the actual vampires! In addition, movies with Hollywood Stars, often become mere trailers for them - in this case its George Clooney who is the swashbuckling hero. Also the reaction of the young girl towards George Clooney at the end is nothing short of bizarre and ludicrous. A potentially good movie that is spoilt by being too 'Hollywoody'

  • Leave your brain at the door movie

I remember when this first was released way back in 1995, I went to the cinema with a friend after Barry Norman slated it and described it as a 'leave your brain at the door' movie. Only Tarantino could of pulled this off, It's a classic heist movie which changes to a classic horror movie. Clooney makes up for Tarantino sh*te performance but on a whole it's a great movie.

  • Film of two halves

    Rated - 4.5 stars

This film starts off and ends as two completely different films. First half is badass, Clooney and Tarantino do a great job of bad guys the second half goes completely B movie style, I love the gore and the good ole practical effects instead of CGI... this film is not for everyone if you appreciate things like practical effects and gorish scenes you'll love it. If you do enjoy I suggest you watch Brain Dead, and The Cottage.
