    This clunky sci-fi drama can't overcome the size of its budget, despite the valiant efforts of a cast of veterans. Made in the wake of the hugely popular 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, this Jules Verne dramatisation stars Joseph Cotten and George Sanders as rival scientists with differing views on space travel. It's nice to see Debra Paget as the leading lady, and there's a certain amount of morbid enjoyment to be found in watching ageing stars such as Henry Daniell and Melville Cooper lurch through the material.

    Must see!!!

    Absolutely superb from start to finish.I missed this when it was shown on tv. Can't wait to see the rest of the series. This tells the whole story of man's greatest achievement(IMHO). A must see for anyone at all interested in space exploration history!!!!!

    Must see!!!
