  • This is the worst film...

    [Highly rated reviewer]

This is the worst film I have ever seen - serves me right for ignoring the other reviews! A tedious mix of documentary style filming and film within a film with confusing characters and just . . . truly, truly awful. Not even good actors could save this rubbish. Hollywood at its worst - save yourself from getting bored and rent something else.

  • Truly A Terrible Film

This film was truly awful.. I watched it through thinking this has got to get better - but you know what? It didn't! This best part of this film is the final credits - because then the pain is over.

This is the first review I have ever written throughout my subscription with Lovefilm which now exceeds two years. The reason: in the hope that those who are thinking about renting this film read this short piece and reconsider.

I naively chose to rent this film because the cast looked good on paper but on film it was a different matter. As the film awkwardly passes by, the realisation that the cast are all miscast becomes a very prominent notion. Like when your scrambled eggs aren’t eggy enough, this is disappointing drivel based upon what were initially very decent expectations.

The film attempts a ‘Crash’, ‘Magnolia’, ‘Bobby’ type approach with a number of lives followed separately but with one ultimate outcome in common. But rather than being left feeling like you have just witnessed something as exceptional as the deep, interwining plot of ‘Bobby’, you are left feeling as though somebody has just given you a crumpled old beer can with a mouldy banana skin wrapped around it and then said: ‘Happy Birthday !!’.

    It’s a ‘no’ from me.

Given the choice between watching this film again or being shot in the face, I'd take the bullet and put my trust in modern medicine. Piss-poor even by Soderburgh standards, and that's saying something.
