Excellent, just excellent! I'm relatively new to animé and have watched several top-rated anime series and films but the only ones that have grabbed me have been Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust and Full Metal Alchemist. These are the final three episodes; there is also a 30 minute documentary where you finally get to see the voices behind the characters and a commentary (which I haven't listened to yet).
This series has been gripping from start to finish. An excellent story full of mystery and twists, coupled with a large cast of memorable and likeable characters make this one of the best stories out there, be that animé or mainstream films. I had tears in my eyes at the end of FMA, and this is rare for me.
These last 3 episodes wrap up the story well but they still have time to introduce some surprising twists and revelations.
I gave this three stars. Every other disc in the series was a 4 or 5, but this was, frankly, a big disappointment after what had been top rate up until this point. At the end, I was sitting there thinking 'Eh? That's it?'. The film's released on DVD in September so we'll see if that sheds more light.
