A nicely paced British naval comedy that?s a cross between ?The Navy Lark? and ?Watch Your Stern?. Frankie Howerd playing the Bos?n in charge of a motley crew of sailors is given the task of taking one of twenty Frigates sold by the government to a Mediterranean country. Seeing an opportunity to make some money out of the trip he places an ad in the paper offering a cut-price cruise. Then bribing a navel official he acquires the most incompetent officer in the navy, Lt. Fairweather played brilliantly by David Tomlinson to captain the ship. The task then for the crew, once everyone?s on board, is to make sure that the passengers and the captain never meet! With many well known faces including Lionel Jeffries, Thora Hird, Sam Kydd, Esma Cannon and the very shapely Shirley Eaton all adding to the ensuing chaos it?s very quickly all hands to the pump. 7- 10
