[Highly rated reviewer]this dvd is superb. It is a movie version of the Futurama series. Cubert, Dwight and some of their little friends are playing Dungeons & Dragons in the Planet Express conference room. Bender wants to join in and play with the kids, but robots don't come with imaginations installed.
Bender because of this, takes the whole imagination game a little too far, and develops a slight problem - being able to tell fantasy from reality.
He goes slightly crazy and finds himself in a straitjacket, locked away in a padded cell at the Hal Institute for Criminally Insane Robots.
Meanwhile, the price of dark matter (the fuel for all the spaceships), has gone through the roof. Mom the owner of Mom Corp (and the Professors ex) controls the supply of dark matter on Earth, along with her sons: Walt, Larry and Ignar. Mom actually owns the dark matter mine.
Professor Farnsworth years ago, accidentally created an 'opposite' crystal made of 'pure anti-backwards' energy. Which he kept hidden from Mom - when he was working for her.
The Professor discovers that if the dark matter and the energy crystals ever interact, all the dark matter would be rendered utterly useless, and strange things will happen.
This is what happens, and all the Planet Express team are propelled into an alternate reality called Cornwood.
This fantasy epic is a cross between Dungeons & Dragons and Lord of The Rings.
Bender becomes Titanius Anglesmith, a knight in shining armour. Leela becomes a centaur, named Leegola. Hermes also becomes a centaur called Hermaphrodite. Professor Farnsworth is the Great Wizard Greyfarn and Amy is Gynecaladriel, queen of the 'waternymphos' who holds the power of being a bombshell.
The team must embark on a journey to the Geysers of Gygax to destroy the dice of power (which is the opposite crystal) and defeat the evil Momon.
Fry becomes 'Frydo' who becomes obsessed with the 'dodecadelicious' and becomes a bit Gollum-like. This causes mayhem !!!!
Ultimately, though, the final battle comes down to ... dungeons and dragons.
Will the Planet Express team win ?.... watch it to find out.

future funBy Gothicstitcher (159 reviews) from Biggar , 19 May 2010Love Futurama - Bender and the rest kept me entertained all the way through - I am of course a fan of it so this might explain my obvious enjoyment and I would recommend to young and old alike
good, but not up to scratchBy Lorrinb (5 reviews) from London , 19 Apr 2010It's pretty certain that if you like futurama, you'll like this... and damn do i like futurama!
But, having said that - this just isn't as good as their best episodes, not is it actually as good as the first 2 movies (Bender's Big Game, being, in my opinion, waaaay ahead in terms of plot / jokes / idea / actually being a film not just a series of episodes).
But hey, it's Futurama isn't it? you can't go far wrong, and i was still chuckling my ass off for most of it...

MetalBy ajmac (55 reviews) from Stockport , 08 Jan 2010An enjoyable episode in the futurama universe, I may have enjoyed it more if I were a fan of dungeons and dragons.
Well, it's just Futurama really.By blindbobcat (10 reviews) from Newton Abbot, Devon, UK , 17 Oct 2009I've always been open to the concept of Futurama, but never really got into it. I guess I just see a watered down Simpsons, set in the future. Hmm. Anyway, with a movie based on a TV show, I expect something more, even with an animated series. This I think was achieved by The Simpsons Movie and South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut. This is just three episodes of Futurama glued together. Nothing special, just Futurama. That doesn't mean it isn't good. Still funny in places, very funny in others. But it's nothing new. Good. But could have been much better.
Good but...By Lander83 (25 reviews) from Oxfordshire , 14 Oct 2009...not as good as The Beast With A Billion Backs. It's funny and I liked the story but it just didn't keep my interest over 90 minutes, it would have worked much better as an episode. Bring back Futurama!!!!!!!
