By blackpolekev (226 reviews) from blackpole , 25 Apr 2013.....is Bruce Willis's humorous reply when asked if he is alright after an almighty firefight, and this is the best line in the movie. But after hearing it so many times in the trailers by the time the film itself reached the cinema I had already gotten tired of hearing it. Still, the 3D is actually rather good most of the time, particularly during a mountain-face fight with some nasty ninjas. On the whole though this is a typical gung ho action flick with nothing much to lift it out of the ordinary.

Good Show
By DickyLa (33 reviews) from Newtownabbey , 02 Apr 2013As a fan of GI Joe or Action Force as it was known in the UK when growing up, I had to see how this film compared to the first one. The second instalment raises the bar again and is definitely worth watching. Plenty of action, fight scenes and special effects to keep you entertained.- Was this review helpful to you?

Dumb, Loud and Fun
By vidmon (55 reviews) , 27 Mar 2013I used this title when I reviewed the recent A-Team movie. However the title is equally applicable to this film. From the outset this film is loud, with helicopters going down, to rocket launchers and high calibre guns being fired. The CGI to be fair is impressive you would expect nothing less from Paramount and MGM, the story is functional though at times it does slow down too much but then gets back on track with some action. There is a complete sub-plot involving Storm Shadow, which could've been left out for a solo effort and only really serve's one of the many conveniences this film has. Acting wise Dwayne Johnson essentially carries the film with his trademark charisma while mixing grit with swagger. The newcomers including Adrianne Palicki, unfortunately are no improvement on Marlon Wayans and Rachel Nichols. While Ray Stevenson is given no background other than being a soldier. Bruce Willis is actually one of the better performers as he is given simple functional dialogue, and as such doesn't need to stretch himself. The film's grasp of politics is overly simplistic, while Cobra Commander is left spouting cartoon villainy lines. This the action is solid and there are some good moments adults will laugh at more than the 8-14 years old this film is designed for. In the end it's a solid way to kick of summer blockbuster season unfortunately for it better things are to come and this film will not live long in the memory.- Was this review helpful to you?
