the mother of all spoofsBy charlieapple from Surrey , 14 Nov 2003
[Highly rated reviewer]I have to confess I absolutely loved this film and I don't think it got the recognition it deserved. The 'confess' is because I'm not a Tim Allen fan, nor am I a Trekkie or sci-fi fan, not crazy about Sigourney being blonde and clevage-exposed either, but my goodness, this movie is a real treat. It has some really subtle moments that had us all in hysterics (and my other half is not that easy to make laugh out loud!). The plot is so clever and original and manages to make a true story out of everything surreal, whilst providing humour, compassion, excitement and pure entertainment as well as some sterling performances from every one of the main crew. See it and enjoy - the kids will love it too!

Very funnyBy a customer from Merseyside , 14 Mar 2010My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this. An excellent send up of Star Trek & similar series. I would recommend this.
BrilliantBy rickreed (127 reviews) from Windermere , 01 Mar 2010If you like sci fi and in particular Star Trek you will probably love this film. Opening - actors from the old TV show Galaxy Quest (read Star Trek) at fans convention ...
Galaxy QuestBy CJH (159 reviews) from Dundee , 09 Oct 2009I love this film! I've seen it many times but for some reason I haven't bought it on DVD yet!
A spoof on all things sci-fi but specifically Star Trek, making it a joy to watch for both fans and non-fans.
The plot is intelligent enough to perhaps... just be possible.. with aliens arriving, believing that the actors in a science fiction TV show were the real deal, and the only ones who can save them!
Almost every classic Trek reference is there; from the nameless guy who always dies in the missions, to absurd obstacles built into the ship that the crew have to pass through.
The effects are wonderful too, one of these films that is over 10 years old, but it doesn't show! The villain, Sarris, is an incredible feat of physical effects and make up, while the ships are all very well designed and rendered.
Really need to buy this on DVD soon. Recommended!
BrilliantBy Mazaran (43 reviews) from Okehampton , 05 Jun 2009Spoofs can be hit or miss affairs but Galaxy Quest is definately a hit. With great action and perfect comic timing not to mention acute observations of those hardcore fans who know far too much about a T.V series this is a great film.
Top banana!By dfxdx (20 reviews) from London , 27 Mar 2009Executive summary:
An incredibly entertaining film with plenty of action, drama and comedy. A spoof of Star Trek that will appeal to everyone.
With a top cast that includes the ever dependable Alan Rickman, the gorgeous and talented Sigourney Weaver, the surprisingly good Tim Allen and Tony Shalhoub (star of the excellent Monk) this is a spoof of Star Trek and the other space themed sci-fi shows. The action moves at a good pace with a generous serving of laughs and is just pure entertainment bliss. Fun family viewing - definitely worth renting and I am proud to let it have space in my collection
