Japanese action sequel in which a man suspended in a realm somewhere between life and death must please a mysterious entity known as 'Gantz' to try and get his life back. In the first film, teenagers Masaru Kato (Ken'ichi Matsuyama) and Kei Kurono (Kazunari Ninomiya), killed in an unfortunate accident, abruptly found themselves in the power of a mysterious black orb and hunting aliens for points in a bizarre game. Kei has now reached the stage where his hunting efforts have left him close to the magical 100 point mark, which would allow him to resurrect Kato and perhaps save himself too. However, nothing is straightforward in the world of Gantz, and Kei and his friends, including Tae (Yuriko Yoshitaka), will have to be on guard if they are to finally win their freedom.

Action packed with a fairly good pace and decent effects, however those looking for answers (perfect or otherwise) will only have more questions.

Just forget about this sequel, read the Manga

After a part one that was suprisingly faithful to the manga part 2 seems to all but throw away the source material for no apparent reason and in the proccess kill the franchise.

There's mayby twenty movies worth of plot in the manga and this film largely invents it own at the expense of the fundamentals of Gantz.

Otherwise the action is pretty good. But there is an amazing Gantz movie to be made and this isn't it.
