Great subject matter and there's a twist or two in this cautionary tale.

Not overly into Sci-Fi but this one's cool. Good cast, acting and direction holds your attention. The three leads; Hawke, Thurman and Law are excellent.

Superb movie, excellent acting, great sense of suspense. Great camera work, real sense of style. My reintroduction to science fiction (albeit near-furure scifi) and feel all the better for it.

a lovely homage to 70's Sci-fi tales of problems when science is given precedence over humanity with a nice nod to 40's film noir, well performed, beautifully photographed with neat twists in the tale to keep you engaged ..... I'd seen it in the cinema when it was originally released and had forgotten much of the story. Well worth watching.

paint a wall and watch it dry - it's about that interseting. If you can stand more than 40 minutes of this gash you're a better man than me. How did this nonsense ever get funding? one star is being generous.

  • Good but too cold

Nothing really new here, but it is done very well. Some good acting and actors here, though it is all a little bit too passion less, especially the love scene, which is sterile (Uma Thurman's no nudity clause the problem, maybe)?

On the whole good acting and a reasonable plot make this enjoyable nonsense, worth a watch but not an 'a' lister.

Why oh why did the editor or director decide to delete any scenes. Most movies when you watch the deleted scenes you can appreciate why they were left on the cutting room floor.

But when you see these deleted scenes, they are so interesting and have deep meaning and would improve the whole film so much more, making it more emotionaly charged.

If youve seen the recently extended Leon by Luc Besson, you can see why the extra 25 minutes were cut back in. They give more insight to the storyline and characters. I really hope that Gattaca is released on Blu-ray and extended so the full potential of the films mood and depth are realised.

    Overall great movie.
