...brilliantly written, perfectly timed, immaculately performed
I decided to give this a shot after it beat Peep Show for a comedy award. I can't see how it did. The only funny moment in an hour was someone walking into a window, hardly the apex of top comedy writing. The rest was like Heartbeat for the under 40s, I believe this is what the TV companies call gentle humour, i.e. its not funny.
Unless you've watched the two TV series of Gavin & Stacey I'm not sure you would find this particularly funny, as it ties up a lot of loose ends from the series and most of the jokes are in reference to previous episodes. However as a massive fan, I really enjoyed it, I have to be honest it wasn't as funny as the TV series, as is often the case with Christmas specials, but it allowed for plenty of new story lines to develop into the next series, so I can't wait for series 3!!
Gavin and Stacy is an amazing series and this Christmas special does not fail to entertain. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll love it!
What a brilliant episode!! would recommend it to anybody!!!

good series and this special. Rounded characters, consistently engaging and funny. Hope they do more and avoid sketch shows! Missed it on tv so am glad have caught up with the series and the special, whole family loves this including cynical teenagers..
A very enjoyable and witty series produced this Christmas Special that uses all the wonderful characters from the series to good effect. It produces a thoroughly amusing trip down memory lane to fans of the series. Let's hope they make a third series!
was a good dose of the legendary gav and stacey - not as funny as I had hoped for but loved that it was a long episode.
Really enjoyed series 1 & 2 and really looked forward to watching this. Some good moments but lacked the comic genius of other episodes. Still it left me wanting more so roll on series 3!
Genius - Even if you have never seen the series this will still have you in fits of giggles. HIghly recommeded
This was funny throughout. If you enjoyed the series you'll love this.
Leaves you wanting more when it ends.
Cant wait for the new series
