Genghis Khan: really poor
By a customer from London England , 02 Nov 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
The subtitles are without a background and so are really hard to read at times, which is very annoying. So I didn't follow the film well at all.- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)Very broken story line
By a customer from London , 08 Mar 2010I rented the film hoping that it will give me a summary of the life of Genghis Khan.
However the whole story plot (if there's any?!) is disjoint and half of the film is about horses running in the wild/ grassland of Mongolia.- Was this review helpful to you?

Real Mongols
By GwydionM (57 reviews) from Peterborough , 22 Mar 2009Made by Mongols, it gives a much more believable view of what life might have been like in the world Genghis Khan grew up in. Sadly, it messes around with the history - for instance Genghis's father was poisoned, and also it was a half-brother he killed. He also looks a lot too old during his rise to power.
Despite which - and despite some comical errors in the subtitles - I thought it a good film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Customer Review
By a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008This film is described in the advertising blurb as being in English, and it certainly isn't - I assume it's in Mongolian [which isn't a huge suprise] but then the subtitles are in Chinese and then English - and it seems like the transation has been done either by someone who isn't great at it, or through Chinese as an intermediate language, so after an hour or so of not really making much sense I gave up with it! I don't mind films with subtitles, but this really isn't a good example.- Was this review helpful to you?
