Feets Won't Fail You Now!

Have many mixed feelings about this concert but Clinton's music is so infectious you can't help but Give Up the Funk.
Disappointments were the songs that were missing, Dr Funkenstein, Starchild and Tear The Roof off The Sucker to name three. There was no big stage show that Parliament are renown for BUT you can't help but lose yourself in the sounds. Flashlight being the highlight for me with it's opening that immediately grabs you and makes you dance. Knee Deep is a lot slower and relaxed than the thumping single was but it still holds it's own. Something Stank and Up for the Downstroke help to carry you along the ride as does the surreal end number, a sort of medley of Rock n Roll numbers including At the Hop the old Danny and the Juniors hit!
I'm not sure how I feel about seeing George struggling to keep up at times and looking so big nowadays! But at almost 70 and still giving up the funk in style, the man is still a prise loon in the nicest way.
All in all, the concert was certainly strong enough to make me want to buy The Mothership Connection concert.- Was this review helpful to you?
