Maxwell Smart is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23. Smart is partnered instead with the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99. Given little field experience and even less time, Smart-armed with nothing but a few spy-tech gadgets and his unbridled enthusiasm-must thwart the doomsday plans of KAOS head Siegfried.

Funny and exciting... with the same level of technical expertise as a new Bond movie
I cannot believe a reviewer described this film as superb! Obviously this person is easily pleased!! This movie was a time filler, and nothing else. Anne Hathaway looked stunning at the ball but her main man didn't cut the mustard! He just seems to be too old to be acting silly as he does. I confess I do not always find him funny. There are some funny scenes but they are not what I would call laugh out loud funny. This is a good kiddies flick, but personally I was bored throughout and could't wait for it to finish .
Joy, a new comedy from the director of The Naked Gun
33 1/3. Peter Segals spy comedy fails on two major counts 1: Its not very exciting 2: Its not very funny. Yes Anne Hathaways legs are lovely, and yes any film that has something as odd and unexpected as the Bill Murray in a tree bit here cant be all bad, but its just so lacking in inspiration.
The gags are tired, and barely one goes anywhere you dont expect it to. This goes double for the plot, whose every detail Id worked out before the movies midpoint. There are a couple of mild chuckles to be had here (which, sadly, makes Get Smart one of the funniest comedies released by a studio in recent memory) but its not anything you should be running out to see. Just watch The Naked Gun again
hell watch Naked Gun 33 1/3 again.
Academy Awards performers Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway are in talks to reteam for another song and dance number - in a forthcoming movie musical about circus showman P.T. Barnum. Oscar host Jackman brought Broadway glamour to the awards show in February (09), opening the ceremony with an upbeat song-and-dance routine featuring the Get Smart star. Jackman has since signed on with Twentieth Century Fox to play the three-ring circus pioneer in The Greatest Showman on Earth. According to Daily... Read more
