Insane, implausible.. and impossible not to laugh.By PaulaWestwood (397 reviews) from Ashton-Under-Lyne , 26 Aug 2008
[Highly rated reviewer]You know whether you like Steve Carrell or not, so know to stay away if you don't. If you do, you have an added bonus of Anne Hathaway who is able to seamlessly do funny adult (Devil Wears Prada), funny kids (Ella Enchanted) and serious (Becoming Jane) with ultimate ease and brilliance. This time Carell is the field agent that never was, stuck for years in an internal role in 'Control' he yearns to have the opportunity to be a field agent like Hathaway, but despite applying is constantly overlooked. That is until (ok its been done before) he is the only man left for the job, and has to try and save the day. This is a real romp, a completely insane and implausible film that I just loved from beginning to end. If you have a funny bone at all there will be something in this for you. Definately worth a watch.

Bond But FunnyBy Malefice (33 reviews) from Southampton , 13 Jul 2012I found this movie hilarious. It's silly, and in places slapstick, but also dry and witty, whilst making fun of all Bond / secret agent movies.
Steve Carell is great as usual, in fact, the movie has a really strong cast overall including a cameo from Bill Murray.
The movie looks and sounds superb. Despite some of the stunts being completely implausible it never looks cgi'ed, and there is never a dull moment.
Ponderous and unfunnyBy a customer , 11 Jul 2012As others have said this is an 'acquired taste' and one that I'm afraid none in our household have. A pity as there are some clever moments and some slick acting, but it all seems mighty laboured to me.
An over the top, (but funny) Johnny EnglishBy a customer , 09 Jul 2012If you can get past how ridiculous some moments in this film are, then you won't be able to stop chuckling. But, if you are looking for a slick and soffisticated comedy then look elsewhere. Think of this film as the American version of Johnny English (FYI a really good film) - and this means that it is a lot sillier and over the top, but if you are willing, by no means less funny.
Agent 99!By a customer , 07 Jul 2012Generally, the film is funny but it is not a film that you can watch over and over again. Without agent 99 the film would be boring and no more than a 3 star.
