fantastic anime

if you liked the other ghost in the shell you will love this although newcomers may find it easier to start with the first series. but you dont need both discs to see the first 4 episodes. volume 1 disc 1 & volume 1 disk 2 are identical except for the sound format.- Was this review helpful to you?

By Danno01 (31 reviews) from Hastings , 26 Oct 2010Disk 2 is identical to disk 1 except for the menu, so only rent the 1st disk, otherwise a waste of time.- Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent
By TheOrs (200 reviews) from Southampton , 02 Oct 2009quality manga with a bit of intellegence.
bear in mind though that, as with a lot of other reviews, disc's one and two have the same episodes on but in a different sound format.
also bear in mind that ghost in the shell: sac and ghost in the shell: sac - 2nd gig seem to be 2 different series, they do not run in the order of volume 1, then volume 1 2nd gig. watch volumes 1-7 or whatever then start with 2nd gig.
that aside, section 9's antics are quality and i'd go as far as to say i've not seem a better manga series ever.- Was this review helpful to you?

Cartoons are NOT for kids...
By a customer from London , 28 Jan 2009Long gone are the days of ACME and frying-pan-based attacks, and the world is better for it...
Anime is a truly artistic, theological and Philosophical gift to the visual arts and Ghost in the Shell is a concept that is pretty much top of the class.
Maintaining it's sense of Gravitas throughout, bursting at the seams with philosphy and excellently probing questions about our possible futures. Sometimes loosing itself in righteous silioquoy, the script always pulls itself back with strong action sequences, well developed worlds and characters and throught provoking plot lines that make the Matrix Trilogy seem a like a quiet tea morning with Nan...
Even with the tedious inclusion of the spider-like AI robots ( a decision on Comic Relief that will forever Mar the TV series ) this Series is a must for all lovers of visually stunning media and social probing subject matter.
