Ricky Gervais, in his first leading film role, plays a dentist who can suddenly see ghosts after a freak accident...

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Went and saw this last night and I thought it was excellent.

If you're a fan of Extra's then this is for you as Gervais' character is similer to Andy Millman with regards to his sarcasm, cinicism and humour.

If you're not a fan of the above (like my fiancee) you probably won't think much of this film.

Very good debut as a lead role...

Always love a good film with humour. Though based in U. S. this film has a very English feel to it. R. Gervais brilliant as usual. Definitely worth renting

  • Ricky Gervais is Brilliant

The beauty of Ricky Gervais is that he makes himself the butt of every situation.

When he wants to tackle racism etc he makes himself the racist which gives him such power in exposing failings in society. All his work is worth viewing several times because of all the undercurrents of messages.

He will NEVER be a great actor but no one is better at poking fun at unacceptable failings in society within comedy so gets a mass audience.

This film was awful and Ricky Gervais although i like his own work, isn't very good in other films he plays the same person all the time. This film is dull and i only watched cause a friend recommended it she needs her eyes tested lol. i wouldn't waste your time renting this.
