This is the kind of show that makes you actually think about life and to enjoy it as well! James Van Praagh which is the co-producer of the show is brilliant! and He has helped so many people through his show and his books. After the First season was over I could not stop my curiosity to get to know more about this subject of the spirit world and I went to buy all James Van Praagh books, if you love the series you 'must' read his books!! Love it!!
Sorry, I didn't watch thiis one becase I am on a light user tariff and it isn't suitable to rent the box set items on this tariff. It would have taken me 3 months to watch the first series-a 6 disc set, and I like to watch several episodes per night over consecutive nights
If you are looking for a spooky series then look elsewhere.
The mediocre special effects are always the same, and so are the plots (a ghost glides sideways through a room, it looks evil but it's a good fellow after all), not to mention the facial expression of the leading lady: only one provided.
And yet... it's addictive against your will. It develops a sub-plot with a twist towards the end of the series.
I still giggle all the way through every episode, which drives my husband up the wall, but I hope to see series 2 so I know what happens next.
Confused? You will be!
If you want to some easy viewing where you dont have to think too much about twists and turns in the storyline then ghostwhisperer is for you. And the lovely Wentworth Miller is in the pilot episode so another good reason to watch this.

I am now watching the 2nd series because I enjoyed this 1st series so much.

At times the series can be a little pedestrian, often using the same formula to reveal the story and solve the how/whodunnit and create closure for the departed and those that are left behind. Some episodes are much more tightly written, and when the series finally introduces a series-wide plot arc things get more interesting. However, this arc is relatively underdeveloped until the last few episodes but makes each episode more compelling to watch to find out what happens next and where it is all leading. JLH looks fabulous too and I'm hoping the series-wide plot arc is strengthened in series 2 to iron out the sameness which some series 1 episodes suffered. Don't let this put you off, it's an enjoyable show nonetheless and I'm looking forward to season 2.
See this advertised in local shop, so got through here. It is ok, but stories follow same patern and some are very slow even possible boring. If you liked Charmed you may like this. Not everyones cup of tea.
Jennifer Love Hewitt plays Melinda Gordon and she can see dead people. Each episode she helps 'ghosts' or restless souls crossover. It's cheesy but I absolutely have fallen in love with the characters. Melinda and her husband Jim, played by David Conrad, are so good together and I find their relationship convincing. It's worth watching.
I have really enjoyed this series I discovered on E4. The stories are all quite different and keep you interested.
