(27)Weird Comedy/Drama
By GaryI (785 reviews) from March, Cambs , 11 Mar 2012Quite a weird comedy/drama that is occasionally mildly amusing but will leave you saying 'Eh!'.
Basically its about a bed salesman whose life ambition is to adopt a chinese baby and his chance meeting and subsequent relationship with a dysfunctional girl.
I just didn't get it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Indie for the sake of being independent and not good
By rav42 (60 reviews) from Romford , 28 Feb 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
This is a strange quirky little film that I didn't like, it's about a mattress sales men who tries to adopt a baby and his relationship with a wealthy women who he meets in a department store.
The issue with this film is the script, it's poor and lacks narrative drive, and you end up with no empathy for either of the leads. Zooey Deschanel is normally winsome and gives you a reason to like her, but here her charms are wasted as the characters are sketches which is fine in a blockbuster, but in small movies character is everything. In fact the peripheral characters feel more three dimensional and rounded, and I can understand why this film took so long to get of the ground.
I like indie movies normally but this is just another junk pile one trying to hard. If you want good indie films which try and succeed you should try brick, Igby goes down, Rodger dodger or kissing jessica stein. If you want Zooey Deschanel, I would watch (500) Days of summer or her tv series new girl- Was this review helpful to you?

Gigantic Bore!
By a customer from Beddington Village , 17 Sep 2011Oh dear.I could waffle on about this movie, but I really don't have much to say about it, except that it's the sort of movie best seen when you push the fast forward button on the remote. The end could be a tear jerker but because the beginning and middle failed to keep me interested, all I could muster was a 'tsk...tsk'. How Gigantic fits into the scheme of things well I doubt the movie will enlighten you except that the movie makers just couldn't find a name that would best describe the story: personally I think bore at the end of gigantic would have given the fair name this movie deserved.Watch and decide for yourself ....if you must!- Was this review helpful to you?
