Pretty scaryBy Rob from Reading, UK , 18 Feb 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]As someone who watches a lot of horror, I really can't quite figure why this one was scary. I caught the first 30 mins when it was shown on TV and felt compelled to track it down to watch the whole movie. So obviously I thought it was good.
My 16 year old daughter loves horror movies, CSI, all things blood and guts (not quite as bad as the two girls' characters in this film!). However, she did not thank me for letting her watch this. She couldn't sleep for hours after watching it and still didn't want to be reminded the next day. Extra fun for me ribbing her about it then;-)
I can certainly see some will watch it and find it low-budget American junk. Well, let's face it, isn't most horror.
In many ways I would liken this to American Warewolf in London, which I also thought was a combination of some scarey bits but a whole lot of tongue-in-cheek humour.
Rent it, enjoy it, but don't expect a screen classic, just a good horror movie. Make your kids watch it, and wait for Soicial Services to come knocking... (joke!)

ginger really does snapBy a customer from Brighton , 10 Mar 2008excellent werewolf film wish more horror films were like this a++++++++++++++
Great alternative horrorBy a customer from Nottingham , 22 Feb 2008I rented this on a whim and am very glad that I did. This was a very interesting horror film that attempts to tell the story from the point of view of what would normally be considered the bad guys but without skimping on the horror.
Like most horror movies this is really about growing up and specifically about 2 girls going through puberty. By telling the story from the point of view of a girl slowly turning into a werewolf and her sister desperately trying to find a cure this film is different from most horror stories which solely present the victim's point of view.
The director manages to make the film feel very intimate, making the viewer feel really close to the main characters and to the action which does get very gory in parts.
Definitely well worth watching for any fan of horror.

Not sure where the 5 star reviews are coming from?By a customer from London , 03 Oct 2007
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideIt's an ok movie, but with 4 out of 5 stars in the Radio Times review, combined with other glowing reports, I was expecting something a bit special. Yes it's a decent story that puts a new spin on the werewolf myth, but the ending, and the build up to it, is quite predictable, let alone the the normal angst of 'something is happening to my body-what is it?' when we all know what it is, and what's going to happen. Oh, and what happens to Mimi Rogers character? Gets really involved in the story and then-what? Where'd she go?
Ginger snap GoodBy David Kelly from Ramsgate , 02 Jun 2007This is a good Film but you have to be it to these films because its not blood and gor all the way throw just about 2 wired Sisters and there love to look after each other and if you like this film there are 2 more to watch.
