This is what gaming should be

Featuring a talking dog called 'Puma' and his balloon headed master 'U-1', it is evident from the menu screen alone that this game hails from Japan.
The plot is ridculous, dialogue is laughable and yet this all adds to the quirky lovable atmosphere of the game, which sees you duelling it out with bizarre bosses in a series of benami style battles.
The gameplay itself is very original, and there is never a dull moment as the screen is constantly filled with bright pastel colours, and background action (of which you'll probably miss as the difficulty level is very challenging!).
The tunes on offer in each level contain a varied mix of styles and cater to most needs if not being everyones taste.
Gitaroo Man is a refreshing breath of gaming in light of the pointless amounts of sequals and 'Fifa' style games we see in stores today.- Was this review helpful to you?

(2)A well made game
By WhiteZero (1 review) , 06 Dec 2011If you think you can just set the game on normal and waltz through it, your dead wrong. Gitaroo Man brings a loveable but very challenging game as you battle your way through levels of increasing difficult boss, defeating them with the awesome and use the power of the Gitaroo.
The Story is short but also very enjoyable. You are the loser U-1 and after always being called a loser at skateboarding, your loveable talking dog, Puma, teaches you to play the guitar. One thing leads to another and you turn into Gitaroo man and use the Gitaroo to save the universe.
In terms of gameplay, its may be short and repetitve on the outside, but each levels requires increasing skill in mashing the buttons in time with the Gitaroo. I will admit that some levels with take ages to master the rifts.
All in all, I give the game a 8/10, The story could be a lot longer and add much more character detail.- Was this review helpful to you?
