Oh my god this film is awful. I've watched the previous 2 Goal films and enjoyed the story of Santiago Munez's rise to fame. However why on earth did the writers decide to sideline this story and focus on two pointless characters and forget the previous story sounding the original character.
This was so painful to watch and i will never get the 2 hours wasted on this movie back, no wonder it went straight to DVD. If you've watched the previous 2, don't waste your time on this one, your be severly disappointed.
Plus the special effects to intergrate the fictional characters into the football games was worse than ever.
How I wish I had read the other reviewers comments before getting this title. As a big fan of the original 2 titles I was hoping for more of the same, great cast, great fantasy storyline - Instead I was subjected to the worst tripe that it is possible to imagine on screen. No story, pathetic action, rubbish and I mean rubish acting (what the hell was Leo Gregory doing in this?) and the worst CGI ever to be filmed. Part of me thinks that others should hire this to share my pain, but I honestly wouldnt subject my worst enemy to watch this. Do NOT hire this under any circumstances.
What on earth were they thinking!
Completely disregarded the previous two films (which were pretty good), get in a few 'actors' that didn't make it into Dreamteam, get the director from Saturday Kitchen and employ the script writer from 'Kevin and Perry Go Large'... and as for the match effects - the funniest thing I've ever seen! Adam and Joe could've done a better job!
However, Mike Ashley's cameo (in Newcastle shirt, natch) was a moment of genius (sic).
It is quite possibly the worst film ever made, but it's just so bad it's really funny.
I found the storyline pretty good although I would have liked to see sante get back together with his pregnant girlfriend from the previous 2 films, he looked so sad without her. Other than that I really enjoyed the film and it highlighted the things that go wrong when you are famous or a footballer as it can be a dangerous sport which can be made worse by alcoholism or silly antics off pitch.

A major major disappointment and I agree wholeheartedly with all the other reviews. Why the film doesn't continue to follow Santiago's progress I don't know. And presumably the makers spent all the budget on their trip to the world cup cause it certainly wasn't spent on anything else. A huge shame and a massive missed opportunity.
this is a film well worh watching, its not all about santiago, theres charlie and liam to, and some nice chicks, charlie is really funny, but there are good twists,a bit sad and the ending,,,,,,,,,well check for yourself,,,,,hope there will be a goal 4 coming out..
Don't normally write reviews but had to this time in order to stop other people wasting their time! Film is dire! Only good bit is seeing Joe Cole getting subbed off and then reappearing on the pitch later on in the game.

Don't rent this DVD as it is hugely disappointing. The film moves away from the central character (Santiago) from Goal 1 & 2 to two guys on the fringe of the England world cup squad. These 2 guys hardly feature during live footage of England's games. Poor story, poor characters, poor special effects and totally waste of time.

it wasnt what i thought it would be like. goal 1 was better, it was an ok film
