Goal!

When Santiago Munez (Kuno Becker) crossed the Mexican border into America at the age of 10, he had two things in his possession: his soccer ball and a tattered picture of the World Cup. Convincing his father that he could be an international football star wasn't easy. But when amiable Brit Glen Foy (Stephen Dillane) spots Santiago at a local match, he recognizes a deft, fast and brave footballerthe kind of talent that the English Premiere League is hungry for. Now thrust into a foreign land where football is a religion and Newcastle's St. James Park its cathedral, this young Latin American must prove that he's got the grit and the game to win a contract with one of the most beloved football clubs in the world.

    Scorchio!!

There are three main reasons I liked this film. 1. Excessive amounts of Oasis Music. 2. Sweet cameo's from the world of football. 3. Igor Biscan scores for Liverpool from a corner. This film is pleasant. Fact.

Fun for the non-football fan too.

I don't really like football, but I still found this film an entertaining couple of hours. It could probably have been executed in less than that time, but it's a great bit of throwaway feel good nonesense.

So promising in fact this is the first of a proposed trilogy It is the ultimate boys’ football fantasy film - a modern day Roy of the Rovers tale - that... Read more
