The title is a sniper's justification for climbing to the top of a water tower in New York, loading up a high velocity rifle and casually popping innocent people in the street. Initially telling a story similar to that of Peter Bogdanovich's Targets, Larry Cohen's thriller (also known as Demon) spirals off into a weird world of sexual fantasy, religious fanaticism and even alien invasion. Lovers of movie schlock might well find their lusts satisfied, though audiences who value more prosaic things, such as decent photography, a script that makes sense and convincing performances, might find it somewhat lacking.
