Bittersweet stuffBy spp from manchester , 09 Nov 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]The laughs don't come as thick and fast as in Porridge, this is more of a comedy drama and as such it feels uncomfortable being performed in front of a studio audience. Maybe Clement and La frenais learnt from this when they went on to do Auf Wiedersehen pet. It's good to rejoin the characters from Porridge and it's a must for any fan of the show as it's rarely been seen on tv. It's pretty good stuff, the theme tune is pig awful though and I can't get it out of my head!...Altogether now 'Ahm Goin starigh I am, straight as an arrer..'

Going StraightBy neil01253 (2 reviews) from Blackpool , 02 Dec 2010Excellent series and a good follow up to the BBC classic Porridge, don't know why the BBC has never bothered to repeat it.
Going Straight to the TopBy MichaelGibson09 (9 reviews) from Ipswich , 15 May 2009Going Straight, the sequel to the much loved Porridge with Ronnie Barker as the notorious inmate Fletcher features our hardened prison bird finally 'Going Straight'. The series follows his transition from prison back to normal civilised life and steering away from not returning to old habits.
Although rarely seen after it was first broadcast, Going Straight, although slightly more subtle, has got to be as good as the original Porridge. You still have the same old Fletcher, and Cobber too. Its certainly worth seeing, and a pity it hasn't returned to our screens before now.
