Ann Sothern's comic vitality and warmth gave an added dimension to the character of Maisie Ravier, the sassy, scatter-brained, accident-prone heroine of the popular series of the 1940s. Here she is trying to make it as a singer in Gold Rush territory, where she comes across poor and hungry farmers. Typically Maisie, who always starts off looking after number one, helps the farmers out of their difficulties. One of the best of the series of ten movies, it successfully manages a switch in tone between comedy and drama.
this dvd is about a young woman played by Alyssa Milano, who gets Gold Rush Fever in the early 1900's, and decides to go from her very nice city life, to the harsh environment of Alaska to make her fortune in gold.
After having to prove herself worthy of joining a company of all men, she overcomes a harsh winter trek through the wilderness of Alaska.
Eventually, she proves that anyone, whether they are male or female can make their dreams come true if they are willing to work for it.
a superb film, and well worth renting out.
