    Sell-by-date coming up

I used to love the Golden Girls when they first appeared on our screens in the Eighties. It was funny, witty, entertaining and I even liked their clothes!!!!! Well, it's almost 20 years later - a lot can change in that time and I am actually quite sad to report that the Golden Girls just don't do it for me anymore. Although Bea Arthur is still very enjoyable to watch and although still there are some brilliant lines, I now just want to shake the 3 of them and tell them to get over themselves. As for the clothes .......

Great performances, great one liners, weak scripts....

Remember watching The Golden Girls for years in the 80s, so interesting to see it again.

The 4 central performances are great, perfect characterisations, the one-liners (of which their are many) delivered with verve, fine comic timing & the actresses work VERY well together HOWEVER the 'plots' are often thin & the sentiment can be overwhelming.

Worth renting for the performances & the memories....
