When “M” says to James Bond, “I think you're a sexist, misogynist dinosaur, a relic of the Cold War,” who can disagree? To ram home the point, “M” is played by a woman (Judi Dench) and a key scene is set in a Russian park that is now a dumping ground for statues of redundant communist heroes. However, Pierce Brosnan, on his first mission as 007, quickly establishes himself as the best Bond since Sean Connery and makes a fetish out of the old-fashioned values of loyalty and patriotism. There isn't a proper villain, but director Martin Campbell does provide a stunning chase between car and tank through the streets of St Petersburg. There are also splendid Bond girls, including Izabella Scorupco and feisty Famke Janssen, who kills by crushing her victims between her thighs.

    my favourite bond film!

' Goldeneye' it has it all. Pierce

Brosnan's debut as 007 James Bond

sees him on mission to infiltrate the

    whereabouts of General Arkavi Ouromov

who is working for an organization chief known only as JANUS named after the two faced roman god. swedish model turned actress Izabella Scorupco is in the movie as Natlaya Simonova who is russian computer programmer who witnesses terrible massacre. Dutch actress Famke Janssen [ X - Men,X- Men 2, I Spy] plays Xenia Onatopp the femme fatale of the movie and the best one since Fatimma Blush in unfofficial bond film ' Never Say Never Again' with

Sean Connery's 007. the film really is cool with Sean Bean [ Troy, Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring] as former MI6 agent: Alec Trevelyan. Robbie Coltrane is in the movie as russian gangster Valentino Zhukosky, Allan Cumming is Boris Grishenko this computer programmer and puzzle master who reminds me a bit of The Riddler from ' Batman Forever' this film really excells the series which is excellent anyways. must see from start to finish.

My favorite bond film. It's worth watching just for the race between the Aston Martin DB5 and the Ferrari 355.

The is plenty of action to keep you happy, some parts are a little far fetched but aren't all bond films.

I am not really a Bond or a Pierce Brosnan fan but this film wasn't bad.

Personally i think that Pierce's acting is so wooden you could get a plank of wood to do his part but he was alright in this film just as he was alright in Mars Attacks, although a completely different Genre.

Lots of action in this film, i especially like the Tank on the rampage scene.

I hated some of the characters, 006(The Traitor) boo hiss, what a swine.

I was clapping when that sniffeling Twerp Boris was killed, at last, he has to be the most annoying character in the film.

Other Characters were great, i loved Famke Janssen's Evil Cigar Smoking Xenia, what a gal, now thats what i call a Bond girl.

    Well worth watching !!

    Brilliant DVD

Brilliant show with a small section on the James Bond movies and actors. Non-stop action, clearly one of the best James Bond movies of all time! Pierce Brosnan is simply the best James Bond, mixing super-sophistication, cool, class, comedy and even a nice guy approach to it all!!

Although, I have to admit, Famke Jensen's character is slightly odd but what do you expect from Bond enemies, eh? A great show to watch, amazing action, beautiful women, fast cars, all around action, and all this done is style...what else can you ask for?

Martin Cambell has worked his magic again. Stunts aren't what they have been in other Bond movies, but the plots make up for that. Bond (Pierce Brosnam) has to save nuclear bombs from being detonated by a torpedo fired by the royal navy to blow up a terrorist camp/black market. This is one of the most enjoyable and exciting films I have seen.

Not Bond's greatest moment in cinematic history but still a good film. The plot is weak not enough suspense, tank chase unbelievable (but then again most of bond is aswell) rent it if you dont mind bond being a wuss.
