Scorsese awarded humanitarian honour

Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese will be honoured with the Multicultural Motion Picture Association's (MPAA) humanitarian award this month (Apr09). Scorsese will be the second ever recipient of the honour, which was presented to Clint Eastwood last year (07). Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese are to be reunited for a forthcoming mobster drama. I Heard You Paint Houses will focus on the story of Frank "the Irishman" Sheeran – the assassin who is thought to have shot union leader Jimmy Hoffa. Scorsese will helm the project, which is being adapted from Charles Brandt's book, while De Niro will take the lead role. Goodfellas star Ray Liotta has signed up to play Seth Rogen's nemesis in upcoming comedy Observe And Report, according to showbiz sources in Tinseltown.
