I started reading the book then decided to rent the film... The film is ok, but if you had the choice, read the book and forget the film. Or watch the film and don?t read the book. I felt the film let the book down, and the actors didn?t reflect the characters appropriately as in the book... Basically 'Mervyn Peake's' books has a lot of potential to be a really good film, but this production really did let it down!
