Who finds this entertaining?

This show is classed as comedy and drama but there seems to be a distinct lack of either. I made it through to the third episode before giving up due to profound boredom. I don't care who is in and who is out, or which of the plethora of rich people will go to Harvard or Dartmouth. Seriously, this show can only appeal to people whose lives are so meaningless that they need to live vicariously through that of others, and who think that the lives of the rich and connected are something to aspire to rather than laugh at.- Was this review helpful to you?

Cruel Intentions Meets Dawsons Creek?! Maybe...
By Catey1978 (2 reviews) , 21 Sep 2011I'm keeping an open mind here. So far I have only watched disc one of season one, and I'm going to keep going with it. I think the biggest initial issue I had with this was that I found it hard to really care about the characters, even the main characters are near impossible to empathise with. Bitchy, unreal and backed by mummy and daddy's money, it's hard to find where the appeal lies. But there have been a couple of twists, maybe they will turn into a storyline that in turn becomes gripping! I get the feeling that the writers were fans of the movie Cruel Intentions, that mixed in with an attempt to plug the void that programmes like Dawson's Creek left when they ended I'm not sure that the patchwork quilt of a show that this is can blossom, but I dont like to write things off without giving it a season to secure itself. Gossip Girl can keep her gossip to herself. Boring

Social status, money, fighting over boyfriends, competitiveness superficial nonesense that i abhor. This is FAR too american for me. By a customer from Derby , 26 Apr 2010Of all the teen US dramas we get over here, this has got to be the best. I was hooked after the first episode. Really great interesting characters and the story lines are very addictive with really good writing. I was so eager to find out what happened next I watched the whole series in about a week! My favourite character has to be Chuck Bass, who has some excellent one liners that are so humerous. If that doesn't convince you, then the glamour, the city, the fashion and music certainly will!
