Chace Crawford is reportedly furious his name has been attached to the Footloose remake - after hordes of teenage girls swarmed the set of his show to sing him the film's theme tune. Crawford to get Footloose?

Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has reportedly auditioned to fill Zac Efron's dancing shoes in the remake of Footloose. The High School Musical actor was slated to take over Kevin Bacon's lead role in the updated film, but pulled out earlier this month (Mar09). And now Crawford is being lined up for the part - and has impressed movie studio bosses with his screen test, according to E! Online. A source tells the website, "He did really well." Read more
Rapper RZA lands indie movie role

Wu-Tang Clan rapper Rza has landed a role in an independent film co-starring Brittany Snow and Rumer Willis. The hip-hop star has signed on to appear in Walks, a film about a group of New Yorkers who reunite for the homecoming of a convicted graffiti artist. Actress Emmanuelle Chriqui and Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr will also star in the film, written and directed by Eric Amadio. Production is scheduled to begin in New York in May (09). Read more

The Gossip Girl star, 21, has amassed a huge female following through his role in the hit U.S. TV drama, but he admits he's desperate to test his action movie credentials alongside one of Bond's sexy femme fatales. Action man Kiefer Sutherland has found himself a new challenge - he's teaming up with rapper 50 Cent for a new all-star movie. The 24 tough-guy will appear alongside the In Da Club hitmaker in the big screen adaption of Nick McDonell novel Twelve. Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford, Julia Roberts' niece Emma Roberts, and Rory Culkin are also set to feature in the film, which portrays teenage life in New York and is slated for release next year (10).
