Amazing. Get this game.

I have always loved the Playstation Gran Turismo games, and this Prologue edition of GT5 is no exception. If you love cars and driving, you will love this. It is by far and away the most realistic console racer you will find - bar none. All of the cards handle differently, and I would say having driven some of them in real-life, that they are pretty spot on handling-wise. Only criticisms are that you soon run out of tracks (or cash for more exotic cars!), but they are so detailed it barely matters. Also, if you DO prefer your racers to have more of an arcade feel, then you may not get on with this. So to sum up... just get this game!- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't waste your time.
By a customer from Worcester Park , 13 May 2010I popped the disk in at 1pm, it took 35 minutes to load onto the PS3, by 2pm at was on the way to the post box. The driving is poor, graphics are as good as Cars on my Wii, the car sounds are hidden under rubbish music. Glad I didn't waste money buying it.
I have had Need for Speed Shift, for about 6 weeks and can't put in down. Everything a driving game should be.- Was this review helpful to you?

Gran Turismo 5 prologue
By Hoodster (6 reviews) from Liverpool , 29 Sep 2009Firstly, this 'IS NOT' the best driving simulator available as others have stated here. Back in the day, I used to think the same myself. From the original PSone vers, right up to the 4th installment on the PS2. But then I got myself a PC to go on the internet, and then GTR - simbins 1st online racing simulator - and later on GT Legends too. It's been 5 years and a new PC later and I'm still playing GT Legends and GTR2 with the Power & Glory Mod with 20 - 30 league drivers 2 or 3 times a week now - superb fun - and are both real driving simulators.
Gran Turismo is one of the best 'CONSOLE' driving simulators although the same could be said of Forza on the 360, but certainly not 'the' best.
It's been a few years since I've played GT4 and playing now I realise now how utterly dull it was, well, apart from driving the Nords ring alone. I now think that was its only saving grace. Prologue 5 is simply more of the same, it doesn't look that much better than 4 to be honest and the simulation physics are very much on the arcade side, there's far too much grip, not enough AI cars, the steering (Using my G25 wheel) is waaay too sensitive and can't be adjusted either(feels like I'm driving a go kart). The cockpit view is a welcome addition which I use on my PC sims, but it has no spark. It's like a well know celebrity heiress - all gloss but very little up top. The only console racer worthy of the term 'simulation' is Race Pro on the 360, it doesn't have the graphical polish of GT5 - but it has all the substance that GT5 completely lacks.- Was this review helpful to you?
