Most helpful review
Early Grand Designs
By a customer from Cumbria, England , 10 Dec 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
This disc contains four episodes, some of which also feature a 'revisited' section on the extras.
The Grand Designs on this disc are:
Newhaven - Timber Framed Kit House
Berkshire - The English Barn
Brighton - The Co-operative Build
Amersham - The Water Tower
I enjoyed the Brighton one the best, where a co-op of people work together to build their own, and each others houses. The 'revisited' extra for that episode is also good as the homes change a lot in the time between the programmes.- Was this review helpful to you?

entertaining
By michael bildner from nottingham , 13 Feb 2007the beginning of a rather entertaining series. Not the mainstream or soap type, but showing the developements of 'dream' houses or villas. If you like them, up to you.
However, the stubborness, strange tastes ofr the builders, etc. are always up for a good laugh. Also nice shooting of the places and a good narration.- Was this review helpful to you?

Enjoyable
By a customer from Kent , 07 Sep 2006Being a sad individual, I find this TV series great as it gives me inspiration and also advice on how not to go about building your dream house. Quite frankly the way some of the featured people go about it is frightening, I wouldn't leave them in charge of the shopping let alone building a new house. The choice of presenter in Kevin McLoud is inspired as he just completes the whole thing - you understand him totally and wonder how he can keep a lid on his sheer disappointment with some of the couples.- Was this review helpful to you?
