Ron Howard's full-length feature directing debut is very much a family affair. Made under the aegis of that canny judge of film talent Roger Corman, this was co-written by Howard's father Rance (who also appears) and offers a role for brother Clint. And while not strictly family, Ron's screen mum from Happy Days Marion Ross is also in there as well. Sadly, the film itself is less memorable and little more than than an extended Dukes of Hazzard adventure. Another Corman protegé soon set for bigger things, Joe Dante, edited the film.
Amiable slapstick chase movie with one car crash after another - though many take place off-screen, no doubt to keep down the cost of this low budget comedy, as would be expected with Roger Corman as executive producer.
